Saying good-bye is the hardest part of our job

Updated: Jan 27, 2022

Towards the end of last year we had to say good-bye to two of our most cherished old boys Mr Sausage and Busty

Mr Sausage was rescued on death row due, he was abandoned at the pound to be put down because his back legs were not working anymore. With physio, swims, lots of massages and love he was able to walk again. He was our mascot and greeted all those who came to the sanctuary

Busty was rescued from the streets with a massive tumor. After a few operations and lots of TLC, he made a full recovery and took place as the grandfather of the sanctuary. He lived most his life with the puppies, teaching them manners and how to play.

We also had to let Gram and Bernard pass over the rainbow bridge, they had not been with us for as long, but we spent many hours looking after them and nursing them until the very last second.

May they rest in peace now and they will never be forgotten
