Silence and Peace with 100 dogs

Unbelievable to think that we have 100 dogs here!!! It’s nap o’clock at Happy Tails Sanctuary and the residents are silent.... well almost 😉

    ANNY and her PUPS
    01:06

    ANNY and her PUPS

Anny was run over and dragged over 2 metres on the hot tarmac in Baie du Cap... her owners called Happy Tails to come and get her and her 3 pups. They did not want the hassle of taking them to the vets. She was and is in so much pain, cannot walk and has mange. Her three little ones have absesses on thier tiny little bodies, seemingly caused by being left outside on a hot surface... We took them in and hope they will all make a full recovery. In times like this, our hearts break, especially because we know it is because of humans that these innocent beings come to so much suffering. Please if you can donate to Happy Tails for Anny and her pups, this would help us get them back on their paws and find a new home where they can all live a life free from cruelty. Thank you
    The Forgotten Pack
    02:32

    The Forgotten Pack

The Forgotten Pack is every abandoned dog on the planet earth. The Mauritian authorities have a culling policy to attempt to solve the problem of the thousands of strays on the streets here. Slaughter is not the way forward! Our mission is to build volunteer run feeding stations around the island, stocked by food donations, combined with a sterilisation campaign. Please help us achieve our goal of an island of sterilised, healthy, well fed dogs. We need to raise £2500 to start the first pilot station and keep it stocked with food for 6 months. Once businesses and the authorities have a working model of the concept, we will seek sponsorship to expand and build stations across the island.

    May the bidding begin!!!!

This Saturday 28.11.20 we launch our Silent Online Auction site at 5pm. Please sign up and get bidding to help us raise funds to help more dogs here in Mauritius. Art For Change is an initiative combining thoughtful pieces with a good cause and also to bring awareness to an important issue for many people, the wellbeing of Man's Best Friend, particularly here in Mauritius, where many of the locals have not yet experienced the strong bond human and animal can have and how beneficial it is to not only their wellbeing but also ours. We are all connected.

    Happy & Morgie

Happy and Morgie were the first two to enjoy our extended Dog Park. They have been at the sanctuary since day one (2019) after having been rescued from terrible situations. Happy was on death row at the pound and Morgie was found dumped in a rusty barrel as a week-old puppy.
    Dumped like garbage
    00:06

    Dumped like garbage

Dumped in a sugar cane field, left to die, neglected and alone without their mother... I don’t think I will EVER understand just how heartless human beings can be. Luckily a young man saw them and we thankfully we had a small space to accommodate them. We are at 87 dogs now, some due for adoption this coming week, but the check-ins are always more than the check-outs. We see no end when we have limited funds. Please if you can donate a little amount every month, those who always promise us they will, rarely do, so we really need YOUR help to keep us going in the right direction. Sterilizing & rehabilitation is costly when we don’t have the support of the community. I’d like to think that together we can, and hope you feel that way too! https://www.happytailssanctuary.com/
